Text Box: A mere five years after it was purchased from Bob and Floss Holschier, the land on which Rushworth’s Community Garden is situated is now wholly owned by our Community House.
Celebrations held at the Community House during May marked the important financial milestone, and provided an opportunity for comparisons between the present garden and the previously undeveloped site.
Community Job Program personnel played an important role in securing the success of the garden since transformation work began in 2001 under the guidance of RCH President, Sandy Ashton.
Grants from the Regional Solutions Program, the Foundation of Regional and Rural Renewal, the Shire of Campaspe and Rural Arts Victoria have enabled key elements such as the green-house, shade-house and tool-shed to be completed successfully, augmented by the charming carved hebel-brick conversation seat.
